Skyjacker JKLSAB Front Air Bump Stop Kit (with FOX Bump Stops)
Jeep Wrangler JK / JL
When you start pushing your Jeep harder—faster hits, bigger ledges, heavier builds—factory bump stops simply can’t keep up.
This Skyjacker system upgrades your front suspension with race-proven FOX air bump stops, giving you controlled, hydraulic bottom-out protection instead of harsh, jarring impacts.
Why Air Bump Stops Matter
Traditional bump stops are just rubber—they hit hard and transfer energy back into the vehicle.
FOX air bump stops are different.
They use internal floating piston (IFP) technology with nitrogen charge and oil damping to progressively absorb energy as the suspension compresses. That means:
- Smooth, controlled bottom-out instead of harsh impacts
- Reduced shock load on suspension components
- Improved stability on hard hits and fast terrain
- Better vehicle control when fully compressed
The harder you hit them, the more they work—making them ideal for aggressive trail use, rock crawling, and high-speed off-road driving.
System Overview
Skyjacker pairs the FOX bump stops with a purpose-built mounting solution to properly integrate them into your Jeep:
- FOX air bump stops (front)
- Skyjacker front air bump stop brackets
- Front bump stop spacer pads
This combination allows proper placement and engagement of the bump stops so they activate exactly when needed.
Installation Notes
- Designed as an upgrade over factory bump stops
- Welding required
- Minor cutting required
This is a performance-focused upgrade and should be installed accordingly.

Best Off-Road Take
This is one of those upgrades you don’t fully appreciate—until you hit something hard.
If you’re:
- Dropping off ledges
- Running faster desert-style terrain
- Carrying extra weight (armor, gear, etc.)
…these make a huge difference in how the Jeep feels at full compression.
Instead of a harsh slam, you get a controlled, damped stop that protects your suspension and keeps the vehicle composed.
It’s not a beginner mod—but for a serious build, it’s the kind of detail that separates a good Jeep from a properly sorted one.
