As fall settles into Utah’s high country, the mountains transform into an explosion of reds, oranges, and golds. There’s no better way to experience that beauty than behind the wheel—so on October 28, 2026, Best Off-Road is proud to present a new favorite traditions: the Cedar Hollow Color Run.
This trail ride is a celebration of autumn, community, and the joy of exploring the backcountry during one of the most stunning weeks of the year. If you’ve ever wanted to take in fall colors from a place that only a capable rig can reach, this is your moment.
Why We Call It the “Color Run”
Late October is prime time in the Cedar Hollow area. The aspens fire off in bright yellow, the scrub oak turns deep red, and the evergreens frame the whole trail with that unmistakable Utah high-country contrast.
Every turn brings a new burst of color. Every ridge line gives a fresh view of shifting leaves. And the Cedar Hollow summit areas put you right at eye level with the changing canopy.
There’s nothing like wheeling through a corridor of fall foliage with crisp mountain air pouring through the vents.
The Cedar Hollow Trail
Cedar Hollow is the perfect blend of:
Scenic mountain terrain
Rolling forest sections
Fun-but-manageable off-road features
Wide-open viewpoints
Cool late-season temperatures
It offers just enough challenge to make it exciting while still being approachable. The trail winds through dense groves of aspen, dips into shaded hollow sections, then climbs back into big open overlooks where the colors spill across the hillsides.
Along the route, drivers can expect:
Light rock shelves
Small hill climbs
Tight forest turns
Soft dirt sections
Plenty of picture-worthy pullouts
It’s the kind of trail that leaves you feeling confident, connected, and eager for more—not beat up or stressed. That’s exactly why Cedar Hollow has become a favorite among Best Off-Road’s community runs.
More Than a Trail Ride
The Color Run is about more than checking boxes on a map. It’s about:
Exploring beautiful places
Meeting other off-road enthusiasts
Feeling part of a community
Building skills naturally as you go
Enjoying the outdoors at its most colorful
The route, the season, and the pace all come together in a way that helps everyone feel comfortable on the trail—even if they haven’t logged a lifetime of off-road miles yet.
